Burning in the Inferno

In the continuing Exile Wars story, Mercy and the resistance on Summerwell, continue to fight Char and Dante.

As Bowen continues to tell this coming of age and war story, the action is great, the characters keep on evolving, and the world building is superb. As Thanos says, perfectly balanced – as it’s meant to be.

The Exile Wars stories have amazing world building. Whether it’s the history, or how the abilities work, or how the transportation works – I am always impressed. This is no different, with Dante’s abilities being so powerful, he can find anyone – which leads to some hope for the Gentle Hand.

I always say, world building helps you create the secret story your world is trying to tell. The way Bowen connected powers with where this story is going is what it’s all about.

The story arc, as the Archon Dominion and the Free Worlds race to Summerwell to secure it. There are plenty of sacrifices along the way – as the Free Worlds works to free Summerwell.

The battles are intense as the Resistance tries to free themselves from the brutal reign of the Dominion. You’re in for some shocks with this one.

And both Mercy and Dante grow – both on a relationship level and on a personal level, personifying that the Exile War is all about choice – choice between rulership over humanity and humility.

The book is great, and I can’t wait to see where this series is going. Hopefully Bowen will have the next book out soon.
