Celebrating the America Spirit with Kamen America – comic review

I started reading Kamen America in 2021. I got the digital omnibus, and a few other comics from Iconic comics. It was my first digital comic purchase in years.

If you can’t tell, I’m always working. My time is the most precious thing for me.There’s always another blog, animation, or source book I need to work on. Sometimes I think the song The Working Man by Rush is about me.

So, I decided to give them a chance, and the story was top notch. The theme of the story was forgiveness.

The way Mark Pellegrini showed the importance of forgiveness was amazing. As Carly grew in her ability to let go of past insults, the more the Kamen Corp grew. As the mirror, Victoria was the perfect antagonist, because the more she Carly grew, the more bitter she became.

And as Vermillion Masquerade, she nearly destroyed her life because she became a terrorist.

While all this was happening Misha and Siggy grew close as Misha worked at Siggy’s gun shop. But alas, Misha couldn’t have him, Siggy loves Carly. Has loved her since childhood and will continue on from there.

Go chase your American dream!

With the first story arc done in the first four comics – in 2022, we started on the second story arc. This one is by far my favourite arc.

It starts with a robotic invasion and the Zenerengers.

Ultimately, the themes are all about standing for what is right, no matter how unpopular it is. And Carly is the forefront of that attitude.

In the 6th volume, Carly tells everyone the most powerful statement you can make in 2022, or 2023 now. Clout Chasing is not heroic!

Needless to say, those who live for clout will never grow up and you will waste years on nothing!

In the end, the Kamen Corp outsmarted the Zenerengers, winning the day at the Hover Dam. But there was a cost, but I will not rob you of all the excitement of finding out.

Carly is the hero of our times. Forgiving others for past insults and standing up for what is right are universal themes. Don’t be a “Lansky” clout chasing and never delivering on their promises, be a “Carly”!
