Farewell 2022, Hello 2023

Welcome to Amazing Gaming Productions; I am Mark. I am a big deal here since I am the lone employee and boss of the joint.

Welcome to my 2022 celebration blog!

This year was harrowing. I remembered this time last year. I said I wanted to accomplish a few things because I had so much almost ready to be published. I decided to look for work outside of writing and game development, which was a huge boom.

First, I went in for Surgery in April. I don’t want to go into that too much detail, but let’s say I had an annoying but relatively minor problem. Just a quick in-and-out surgery and I was home. Then I got a call from the prospective employer when I got home. They said I could start in the 2nd training class in May.

I went through training and started working the phones, and then my mom went to the hospital. In about a week, she passed away. Yesterday would have been her 77 birthday. It still hurts every day.

I did not work much on my writing projects for a couple of weeks. I needed time to come to terms with my mom. I still went to work – I was a trooper.

After, the first thing I worked on was getting Webtastic Stories published. I should go through the story, but I went through Ingramspark and KDP. After I got the physical book correct through Ingramspark, many of my coworkers bought my book. I’ve made over $200 from my book. You can download it free from my website, or if you want to help make the world a better place, every physical copy I sell from Amazon goes to charity. So far, I’ve donated about $100, $35 for Hurricane Fiona, $35 for Breast Cancer research, and some Spider-Man toys for Christmas. If you want to help the real world, feel free to buy my book, it’s all about rejecting the meaningless online world and embracing the real world!

After I finished my work with Webtastic Stories, I started to focus on Tales from Trinity City. First, I finished writing the rough draft of the Welcome to the Projects campaign. One of my friends from work will help me playtest it, so follow her Twitch Channel and Twitter. Then I finished the developmental draft of the map supplement, where the leaders of Trinity City talk about the city. It’s a fascinating read. Then I finished writing the first draft of the Fighting Factions book. I needed to write it this year to create a solid book on how to revamp the difficulty levels for the Welcome to the Projects Campaign.

This year was a rollercoaster ride, with ups and downs, but I am still focused on my writing work.

Next year, I want to finish most of the prep work I was working on this year. Not only do I get to switch to a new contract with a $1/hour raise starting Jan. 3rd, but this is the year I launch Tales from Trinity City for the public.

First, I’m going to publish the Map Supplement. I read the current draft to my fiancée to read all the errors and areas that need work. Then I rewrite them and put them into the Hemmingway Editor and Grammarly. After that draft, I will release the Map Supplement free on this page. You will be able to download it for free.

Second, I will use Arkenforge to create some maps for the Tales from Trinity City campaign as part of the developmental edit for the campaign. The next step will be the difficulty-level edits to make all the mission and experience consistent. The third step will be to fill out the maps with encounters for each mission instalment, and then I will write out each mission instalment for the campaign. As I said, my friend will test the setting. If you are interested in playing, you can talk to me. I want to start up a group to try the game as well.

After that, I want to focus on publishing Fighting Factions. I will do the latest character Interviews for the sourcebook. Then I will do the developmental edit in their voices. After that, I will do everything I mentioned about the Map Supplement. I will read it to my fiancée, edit it, and then put it through Grammarly and Hemingway Editor.

If I have time next year, I want to publish a photo book with my Fiancée. She’s been working hard on photos for the past two years, and I want to help her create something she can sell off Amazon.

I also want to work on Heroic Histories, at least the rough draft. I already have some parts of it started. Not much, but some.

I also want to create a new video channel. I want to focus on something that will give writers and game developers some value. I figure out how to live frugally, and life hacks are my speciality. After all, I have the bragging rights of getting over $1000 of Christmas Gifts for only $160 – check out my video about that story. I’m still planning things out, but with a new mind-mapping program, I figure it will be much easier to write blogs and create videos.

Thanks for reading my blog. Tell me your goals for next year, and how did your year go?

And thank you to everyone who has followed and read my blogs. Your support means the world to me.
