Unless you’re hiding under a rock, you know about the Truckers for Freedom rally in Ottawa. I applaud them for their courage to come together and voice their grievances about mandates.
On January 15th, Justin Trudeau implemented something problematic. Truckers will have to prove they are vaccinated to make deliveries across the border. When 90%+ of Truckers and Canadians are vaccinated, this made no sense. With a supply chain issue that even affects a small country like Canada, Trudeau decided to add some gasoline on the fire.
I say this as a person who took the booster shot. My family also took the jab. We believe in the vaccine because it helps. We don’t listen to insane internet rantings of a few “internet conservatives (who are anything but)” because we believe in self-ownership, self-discipline, self-control and self-sacrifice. If I can help protect my brother and mother, both have MS, by taking a shot, I will. It’s a reasonable thing to do.
But I completely understand why others won’t as well. If you have a heart condition, you may decide not to take the vaccine until it’s proven safe for people with heart conditions, then I understand. If you want to become pregnant or are pregnant, you may want to delay or forgo the vaccine as well. I feel for those who have concerns – that’s why I am anti-mandate. You should be able to choose.
Recently, Justin Trudeau, in his infinite wisdom, disagrees with many Canadians. He says there is a fringe minority who are sexists, racists, misogynists, and many other internet buzz words that are pushing anti-vaccine rhetoric, “which is unacceptable in Canada”. The only unacceptable rhetoric I consistently hear is my prime minister.
Now, the Truckers have forced his hand. They’re calling his bluff, and it paid off. Yesterday, Trudeau believed his rhetoric that “misogynists, sexists and racists” are after him so much he’s been moved to a secret location. These are not the actions of a leader. These are the actions of a coward.
I wrote the book Webtastic Stories and these one-shot news briefs to tell people to stop taking the Internet nonsense this seriously. You can’t build a life on them. And I have a Prime Minister who fits the bill exactly. He’s so paranoid about the world because of a worldview warped by social media that he runs and hides from people who disagree with him.
It’s your move JT, but you lost many people for your cowardice.
